Welcome to the Bellingham Quarterstaff Association web site. We are an association of martial artists and scholars dedicated to preserving the art and science of the English Quarterstaff.
We are primarily interested in those techniques and philosophies found
in the Elizabethan treatises of George Silver and Joseph Swetnam, though
we are actively extending our list of sources backward and forward in
time. For those interested in pursuing the primary texts on their own,
we have provided a glossary of terms that
may be unfamiliar.
The Bellingham Quarterstaff Association offers beginning through advanced
instruction in the Engish Quarterstaff techniques
of Masters Silver and Swetnam. Instruction is small-class based and conducted
with attention to both authenticity and safety.
